Ease of Use:  

Navigation of Advanced Registry cleaner is relatively simple. It performs a scan of your registry and displays the error in a format similar to reg-edit. Once you have completed the scan, you can either remove the file or double-click on it for direct access to the problem. This will appeal to the advanced registry user who desires to jump in and fix the actual registry problem.

Feature Set:  

This program lacks many of the features usually found in registry repair utilities. It does not offer instant access to start-up programs or the windows add/remove list and lacks undo capabilities. It does offer registry backup, allowing you to restore all of your corrections, but does not allow you to undo individual corrections. The program offers the option to remove files automatically or manually.

Ease of Installation:  

During the installation of Advanced Registry Cleaner, my virus scanner detected a virus. I quarantined the file and continued with no problems. I sent an email to the customer support for this company and got no response. For this reason, the product is last in our active products list.

Help/Support:  

The help and documentation segment for this program needs improvement. Help documentation is available throughout the program to answer basic questions. Before contacting technical support, there is a checklist that you must complete making sure that your question is not the result of you own simple error. This method is ridiculous because the point of technical support is to guide you through these errors, not to have you solve your own problems. When you attempt to access support pages, you are redirected to the new website, where the help segment has not been updated. There is available email support, but it is linked to the old website and may not work.

Safety:  

Safety is the most critical issue in registry repair utilities. Advanced Registry Cleaner lags behind in the safety category. Unless you have prior experience with each term and value in the registry, this product is not safe and may contribute to the loss of valuable pieces of information. The lack of severity ranking of errors and the inability to exclude specific entries make this product potentially dangerous for the average or novice registry user.

Summary:  

Advanced Registry Cleaner is a good product if you wish to know exactly where the error is occurring in the registry. This product is definitely designed for the advanced registry user. It lacks many features that are normally included in similar products. Novice and average registry users should take advantage of other registry repair utilities available.
