PC Bug Doctor from Maxium Software is successful at finding invalid shortcuts on your machine. However, due to the lack of support and limited feature set and safety tools, I would recommend selecting another program for your registry repair needs.

Ease of Use:  

The navigation of PC Bug Doctor was designed for a novice to the Windows registry. With a simple one-click process, the scanning process is performed. There is an amusing animation of a magnifying glass observing bugs played during the scanning process.

Feature Set:  

PC Bug Doctor offers scheduling capabilities to help organize your registry scans. It is excellent at discovering shortcut errors and offers the ability to backup and restore corrections. However, PC Bug Doctor lacks the extensive feature list found in most top-of-the-line registry repair utilities. For example, it lacks the ability to check auto-start programs and add/remove lists and cannot perform an individual deletion.

Ease of Installation:  

The installation of PC Bug Doctor had no complications.

Help/Support:  

The help and documentation for this product is very poor. The program lacks a help manual, the email and support link do not work, and the FAQ section is unhelpful.

Safety:  

Safety is the critical issue in registry repair utilities. PC Bug Doctor has two features designed to improve the safety of the program. It allows you to backup your system and divides the multitude of errors into categories. However, the rest of the correction process must be performed by you. There is no error-location feature, no detailed description of the error, no direct access to the error and no severity rankings for the errors. The lack of severity rankings makes it difficult for a novice to the registry to decide which errors to fix and which to delete.

Summary:  

PC Bug Doctor's lack of features, help documentation and safety features override its ability to discover invalid shortcuts for error detection. There are much safer products with a more extensive feature set available at a more competitive price.
