RegSupreme Professional from Macecraft is a very user-friendly registry cleaner. It has the outstanding ability to edit windows startup programs. This program was designed for both novice and advanced use. Reg Supreme offers two user modes to ensure safety for both the novice and the advanced user. It also includes the individual undo functionality, but lacks severity rankings, which decreases the safety of the product.

Ease of Use:  

The navigation of RegSupreme is very simple. It has a user-friendly screen which includes ten tab keys located at the top of the program. Clicking on one of the tabs automatically transports you to the area you need. The help button will denote the function of each tab key. There should, however, be additional instructions for the function of each area. There should be some text that describes what each area is supposed to do.

Feature Set:  

RegSupreme grants instant access to programs which start automatically when you logon to your computer. This shows what is running on your machine and allows you to delete or disable items you want removed from your startup, or search for more information about each program. Cleaning your windows add/remove list is exceptionally easy with this program. With most programs, when you manually delete something from windows, the uninstall options are removed as well, leaving references to these programs in your add/remove list. However, RegSupreme has the ability to uninstall programs found in the Windows add/remove list.

This program also includes an installed software list, which lists all of the software currently installed on your registry. You may choose to run either a normal or deep scan of the registry. The normal scan, designed for novice users, detects half as many errors as the deep scan. The deep scan is for those who are more experienced with the windows registry. The program lacks both a scheduling and defrag tool.

Ease of Installation:  

The installation was fairly easy. We encountered no problems.

Help/Support:  

The help and documentation segment for this program needs improvement. There is a simple explanation of tab functions and a simple FAQs section, but the program lacks detailed instructions offering any further help. There is available technical support through the use of email.

Safety:  

RegSupreme has the ability to perform a thorough, deep scan of your registry or a normal scan that detects half the quantity of errors. Those who are unfamiliar with the windows registry, through the use of the normal scan, have many fewer errors to correct. After performing a scan, RegSupreme restores the list of detected errors. It details the problem and allows you to individually undo each item. However, if you attempt to delete more than one at a time, they are grouped together for a full backup. This program lacks the ability to rank severity of each error. This makes it difficult for the novice to decide which errors to fix and which to delete.

Summary:  

Overall RegSupreme does an excellent job detecting registry errors and allowing you to clean your startup programs and windows add/remove list. Improvements in the safety division, such as the addition of severity rankings, would make this product much safer for the novice to use.
